BailSco's Truly Reversible Propellers

BailSco manufactures the most complete line of Kiln and Wood Processing Fans available today to meet the most demanding requirements of the Wood Processing Industry. Fan designs for either Standard or Reversible Airflow conditions have evolved from BailSco's years of professional experience in producing quality cast aluminum propellers in 24" to 84" diameters. Other manufacturers alternate standard propeller blades to produce a so called reversible propeller design, however; this design will not produce required capacities efficiently. The BailSco true reversible design has the leading and trailing edge of the propeller blade the same for high aerodynamic efficiency.

Lumbermen know that dry lumber is a must to produce high quality finished products that will last. Low moisture lumber not only machines better, but is easier to glue and finish. Consequently, air circulation at elevated temperatures is the Kiln designer's tool to achieve proper drying. The fan is the Kiln's workhorse and must meet the following requirements:

Construction-due to corrosive, acidic nature of the moisture from the drying process, high strength aluminum alloys produce the best results.
Aluminum must be an alloy that permits the metal to operate at an elevated temperature.
Fastening hardware of the propeller should be of an alloy that can be used at elevated temperatures.
Heat treating of the alloy should be utilized where required.
Capacity-the propeller must produce sufficient air volume to furnish the required air flow in either direction and at various pressures.
Efficiency-the propeller's efficiency must be as high as possible to reduce energy costs.
